  HeartMate II® Left Ventricular Assist System

  The HeartMate II is Thoratec's first-line intermediate-to-chronic left ventricular assist device. Designed to dramatically improve survival and quality of life, the HeartMate II was developed with the goal of providing several years of circulatory support for a broad range of advanced heart failure patients. Its small size and quiet operation make the HeartMate II suitable for a wider range of patients, including women and those of smaller stature. With product attributes specifically developed to minimize the risk of complications, the HeartMate II is exceptionally durable, dependable, and thromboresistant.

  Thoratec® CentriMag® Blood Pump

  The CentriMag blood pump is an extracorporeal circulatory support device providing hemodynamic stabilization in patients in need of cardiopulmonary support. CentriMag is CE-Marked in Europe for use up to 30 days to provide hemodynamic support for patients as a bridge to recovery, transplant, or a short-term VAD. CentriMag is also CE-Marked in Europe for use up to 30 days as a component of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) circuit to provide support to patients in need of cardiac and/or respiratory assist.

  CentriMag offers a range of features and benefits:

  • Magnetically-levitated pump impeller provides a contact-free environment to help minimize blood-related complications such as hemolysis;
  • Simple to implant and manage;
  • Capable of delivering high flows up to 9.9 LPM;
  • Utilizes same hardware as PediVas^® blood pump;
  • CentriMag system is fully transportable via air or ground ambulance utilizing the compact System Transporter.

  The PediVAS blood pump is an extracorporeal circulatory support device providing hemodynamic stabilization for patients in need of cardiopulmonary assistance.

  PediVAS is CE-Marked in Europe for use up to 30 days to provide hemodynamic support for pediatric patients as a bridge to recovery, transplant, or a short-term VAD. PediVAS is also CE-Marked in Europe for use up to 30 days as a component of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) circuit to provide support to pediatric patients in need of cardiac and/or respiratory assist.

  PediVAS offers a range of features and benefits:
